Birds
From April to October, about 40,000 flamingos visit this area to be
able to eat the small organisms that produce their characteristic pink
color. A lot of different birds live and nest here, increasing their
number every year. The fregats, the white ibis, the white garceta, the
cormoran, the red garceta, the spoonbill, white and grey pelicans, herons...
A lot of these birds breed in this area, but specially on Isla Pájaros
you can commonly notice their nests on top of the trees. On this small
island, where you can not step foot on, one can observe 150 species,
depending on the season. Without any doubt, it is a bird sanctuary and
if you are a bird-lover, don’t miss it! |
